it came to me while playing call of duty that there isnt a world war 1 game, i thought about it for a while, and i think it be cool, for a online multiplayer trench warfare game.

Most of the WWI games are flight sims, because they focus in on American troops in it like Wings of War and Blazing Angels.

I don't think trench warfare would be a particularly fun multiplayer concept though. Trench warfare was centric on...well...being entrenched. You dig a hole, you stay there, and you occasionally shoot a mortar round off. And also, very few of the soldiers who died at the France-Germany border in WWI died in combat. Most died from the infections brought about by the terrible living conditions.

Take it from Spudly, WWI is not as interesting as WWII. Plus nothing is really too much different between them. They were only 30 years apart from eachother. The weapons were crappier and mostly riffle battles in trenches and dogfights. Why don't you think there has not been many WWI movies? Even though it was a World War, it was not as Grand as WWII.

Speaking of WWII games, Brothers in Arms is the best I think. Brothers in Arms 2 has some of the best AI I've ever seen. I'm a big fan of advanced AI. I was playing skirmish mode with a friend. It allows you to play split screen, one player commands a fire team, the other an assault. You can be either German or American forces. Anyway, we were playing as the Germans. The American squad came in behind our position from an alley of a village level. I moved my team around the building to flank their position. What surprised me is that they picked up on my move and moved straight in through the alley and did a full-out assault on my friend's position. By the time I made it back around he was almost dead. That's just an example of the awesome AI. The enemy forces will also move their positions further back if they feel they're going to be flanked, link up with another team, throw grenades, try to outflank your position, and perform all-out assaults. Yep, WWII is when true squad-based tactics came into existence, which makes for very engaging gameplay. Now someone needs to make a FPS based off of the Vietnam War, much like Battlefield Vietnam, but with GOOD AI, meaning smart and noncheating.

WWI was also extremely bloody. They could do some spy-like things or an elite team. The guns really were crappier, but there could be plenty of stories with it.

Hey. Hold on. There's a WWI game...well ish.

Shadow Hearts II? And Shadow Hearts (the first one) is PRE-WWI.

I mean...okay it's a fantasy/rp game, and it's actually kinda-sorta-not-really very accurate. But it's set in the time period!
