On My Throne
:fire:Before i get flamed for this topic:fire:, It is a rarity when me and my wife can actually share the same taste in Tv shows. So what does the F***in' networks do, they take every show that we have been interested in and cancel the damn things.....The Show is called "Love Monkey" and it was on Tuesday Nights on CBS....Soooooo, i started to wonder after a couple of weeks why the show had not been on....I figured it was because of the Winter Olympics coverage, but NOOOOOOO, they had to go and cancel it on us......I don't understand it, here is a list of shows that have been cancelled by these wonderful networks:
"Mind of a Married Man"-HBO....Not a great show, but truly funny in its' own right
"Love Monkey"-CBS....We got 3 or 4 freakin' episodes and that's it!!!....Highway Robbery, i tell ya
And Last but not least, the Lawyer Comedy on Fox....late last year....2, count 'em, 2 episodes

And people wonder why i don't watch Tv, 'cause the networks won't keep our shows on long enough for me to thoroughly enjoy them.....I know people are gonna say, "Well, the other shows are really good...I watch them faithfully"...................Trust me, i watched at least 2 to 3 episodes of the shows that are SOOOOOO Popular....I wasn't impressed......Man, i think the networks kill a show after 1 season just so we can go buy the DVD set for $700.00...............Sorry, i don't want to pay for those right now, i would just like to see another Damn season

Wow, love monkey huh, never heard of it.

Although I am pissed Arrested Development was canceled. And I still yearn for new Mr Show episodes.

I'm glad that my cult favourite, Rollergirls has not been cancelled by A&E. Now that show kicks ass.

Very few shows I can tolerate on tv, for the most part it's CSI and Lost though, otherwise there aren't many shows that hold my interest for long.

It's a shame though, that networks are so quick to cancel intelligent shows and instead replace them with vapid and mindless programs (Everybody Loves Raymond and other such crappity-crap?)

Arrested Development was a pretty good show, and had lots of intelligent AND low brow humor, which was great because that meant I enjoyed the entire show. Though, what's pissing me off is all these half-baked crime investigation shows. It started with CSI, which I do like, but now we have...

CSI
CSI Miami
CSI New York
Cold Case
Bones
Without a Trace
Ghost Whisperer
And about 10 others I'm forgetting. Main thing, though, too many of em.

The Mindless Shows i can agree with you on, Klink....But ok, the networks seem to put in shows for all their researched "groups" of people...What about the casual TV watcher??.......When they cancel the shows that me and my wife decide are good, it leaves us with kinda blank faces.....I can accept if a network tells you that a show will only be on for one more season, i.e. The Sopranos.....But when they yank it 'cause their "core" audience didn't enjoy it as much, it makes me give up hope on TV all together.....That's why i got the Digital Video Recorder....I go in and record everthing I want and then watch it when I want....Since those shows i stated earlier have been cancelled, my DVR only really records The Shield and wrestling shows....My wife watches WB and UPN alot, but i would rather put my head through a wall than watch their shows....:banghead:

Some of the more popular shows get syndicated quick because they can make plenty of money in reruns than in doing another season. Seinfeld is still raking in the bucks off of his reruns.

I'm still pissed about Firefly being cancelled. We got a decent movie out of it (Serenity) but I think the show would have been better.

Yeah, I'm royally pissed about Arrested Development. I loved it from the first episode. But I can't blame Fox for that one, they tried to get people to watch, but for some lame reason most of America ignored it.

I was upset when Tilt and Playmakers were cancelled too.

i hate how tv is saturated with reality tv, ALL THE TIME. there's a reality show about everything, there's even a show about flight attendant school! cartoon network is really the only channel i watch on a regular basis and some occasion live action shows that don't suck. i watch inside the actor's studio, and miami ink, and that's about it. the only other thing basic cable is good for is movies, if you can stand having to sit through 16 five minute long commercials.

I'm also pretty pissed about teen titans being cancelled...
